An opening, not a complete account.
New York City announced a public 9/11 records portal on September 8, beginning with approximately 170,000 pages concerning air quality, health concerns and government response. That is the City’s announced page count, not our own inventory.
The City plans additional releases over the following 12 months. The first collection should not be treated as the full record.

Public records are not personal records.
At the launch, officials distinguished the public portal from a separate commitment to help locate personnel or school records that might establish someone’s presence in the affected area. That assistance was described as work to develop—not a guarantee that a particular record can be found.
Officials also described redactions for personal information and continuing building-security concerns. The transcript provides context for those limits; Civitally has not independently audited the archive’s redactions.

Individual documents, archive completeness, search accessibility, and the operation of the new records-assistance process remain unverified here.
